Mark 4:26-29

Mark 4:26 - 4:29

26 And he said, “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground. 27 He sleeps and rises night and day, and the seed sprouts and grows; he knows not how. 28 The earth produces by itself, first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear. 29 But when the grain is ripe, at once he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.”

Welcome to corona chronicles. We are in Mark chapter 4 and gonna read from verse 26. It says this. He also said, this is what the Kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground.

Night and day whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows. Though he does not know how, all by itself, the soil produces corn. First, the stalk, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear, as soon as the corn is right, it puts the signal to it because the harvest has come. Yeah. It's a funny little parable really.

I love it. It's 1 of my favorites. It's 1 of my favorites of, you know, little parables of Jesus in in this particular section. It's just because it just it sort of reminds me of who I am. I I I can't do a thing.

Yeah. Well, you can go to bed. Yeah. That's right. Yes.

I mean, that's what it is about, isn't it? So you we've we've we've been looking at the seed going out and the broadcasting. Yeah. Because that's what you did with seeds. Yeah.

Broadly cast it. And it's the, you know, TV radio people that have just nicked that. Yeah. Yeah. And then the the the seat goes out, and our job clearly as Christians, is to broadcast that seed.

Not some other seed, but the word of God. And we do we do that diligently, hardworkingly, but in the end, we can't make it grow up. Yeah. It's gone it's gone that does that. Yeah.

And that that sort of is a quite it's a very humbling story, isn't it? It's a very humbling truth. It is. We we have our job. We scatter the seed.

We can we can you know, we can do as many corona chronicles as we like. And we should. That's our job. And they go to bed. Yeah.

So it is humbling. And sleep Well, it's humbling, but for that reason, it's also very gives you security, because our job is to do that. But in the end, it's the lord, you know, it's spirit's work to take that seat and work into heart. So, you know, we're doing all of this stuff, as you say, on the on the internet and stuff. And we do pray that a lot would use that.

I don't have to stay up all night -- Yeah. -- worry and worrying. The farmer goes to bed. Yeah. And not Martin Luther used to have a good 1 on this, the great reformer.

I mean, he was a or a character anyways. But, you know, he said, you know, work hard in the morning, work hard in the afternoon, and then in the evening, have a have a pint of Heineken or whatever it was in It was home roofing. Yeah. Well, his wife used to brew it. Okay.

She was a professional brewer. But So he would That that was his point -- Yeah. -- really. In saying that, you can you can trust god. Do work, work hard, work diligently, do the work that we're taught, sow the right seed.

Yeah. But in the end, it's the sovereign God that will cause that seed to grow. Because we we just don't know. It. Yeah.

Yeah. And when the harvest does come, get your sicker out. Yeah. Alright. We just go and get Yeah.

Absolutely. But, you know, it's probably a good point to to make. You know, if if if you're watching these Corona Chronicles and you're someone who has sort of noticed that you're you're starting to love the stories of Jesus. You know, you might be time person who we're we're reading about, you know, the seed is growing in you. So don't don't just sit there and and sit on it, give us a shout, make a comment, or get in touch with the church.

We would love to hear from you. If this stuff is is going in and if you can feel, you know, can feel yourself coming closer to God. We would love to hear Yeah. And and also, you know, people to unlock the church, and people say, oh, you just preach at me. But, yeah, we do.

We do preach that word, but we don't manipulate. We don't need to get, you know, the choirs in and the music and the violins. Manipulate you is lighting and all of that. You know, the truth is it's the word of God, other words, who Jesus is, he is the Lord and Savior. And we're not manipulating, the church isn't doing It's not meant to do.

It's meant to just give we broadcast the seed, and we pray, and the Lord will, you know, increase, increase, yep, bring the heart. That's bring the growth. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Great. Well, I mean, that's a short 1, but I think that's I think we'll leave it there because I'm not sure what else there is to say. Super fact.
