Sermon 9 of 16

Gehazi - Inside Out

Pete Woodcock, 2 Kings 5:20 - 5:27, 14 March 2021

In the latest in our series in the life of Elisha, Pete preaches from 2 Kings 5:20-27 on the story of Gehazi. In this passage we see the fruit of unbelief in the life of Elisha's servant Gehazi. The passage warns us to watch out for thoughts and behaviours that might lead us away from seeking God's kingdom and instead living for this world.

2 Kings 5:20 - 5:27

20 Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, “See, my master has spared this Naaman the Syrian, in not accepting from his hand what he brought. As the LORD lives, I will run after him and get something from him.” 21 So Gehazi followed Naaman. And when Naaman saw someone running after him, he got down from the chariot to meet him and said, “Is all well?” 22 And he said, “All is well. My master has sent me to say, ‘There have just now come to me from the hill country of Ephraim two young men of the sons of the prophets. Please give them a talent of silver and two changes of clothing.’” 23 And Naaman said, “Be pleased to accept two talents.” And he urged him and tied up two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of clothing, and laid them on two of his servants. And they carried them before Gehazi. 24 And when he came to the hill, he took them from their hand and put them in the house, and he sent the men away, and they departed. 25 He went in and stood before his master, and Elisha said to him, “Where have you been, Gehazi?” And he said, “Your servant went nowhere.” 26 But he said to him, “Did not my heart go when the man turned from his chariot to meet you? Was it a time to accept money and garments, olive orchards and vineyards, sheep and oxen, male servants and female servants? 27 Therefore the leprosy of Naaman shall cling to you and to your descendants forever.” So he went out from his presence a leper, like snow.

Okay. So please open up your bibles to 2 kings chapter 5. This is second part of a story that Pete began last week. And we're going to be reading from verse 19 to the end of the chapter. After Neiman had traveled some distance, Gihazi, the servant of Elijah, the man of God, said to him self, my master was too easy on Neiman, this arameon, by not accepting from him what he bought.

As surely as the Lord lives, I will run after him and get something from from him. So Garazi hurried after Neiman. When Neiman saw him running towards him, he got down from the chariot to meet him. Everything alright, he asked, everything is alright, Garazi answered. My master sent me to say, 2 young men from the company of the prophet just come to me from the hill country of airframe.

Please give them a talent of silver and 2 sets of clothing. By all means, take 2 2 talents, said Naiman, he urged Khazi to accept them and then tied up the 2 talents of silver in 2 bags with 2 sets of clothing. He gave them to 2 of his servants and they carried them ahead of Gihazi. When Gihazi came to the hill, he took the things from the servants and put them away in the house. He sent the men away and they left.

When he went in and stood before his master, Elijah asked him, where have you been, Gihazi? Your servant didn't go anywhere, Gihazi answered. But Elijah said to him, was not my spirit with you. When the man got down from his chariot to meet you. Is this the time to take money or to accept clothes?

Or olive globes and vineyards or flocks and herds or male and female slaves. Damon's leprosy will cling to you and to your descendants forever. Then Gihazi went from Elijah's presence and his skin was generous. It had become as white as snow. Well, welcome from me.

I'm Pete Woodcock, I'm pastor of the church. Welcome to those sitting in wherever it is, you're sitting in your lounge, your car or whatever. And in the backhaul as well, I've been keeping my eye on you back there as well. Let me pray. Father, help us now.

As we look at your word, please please would you be kind and allow us to hear what you say, to the depth of our heart, to the changing of our attitudes and minds, that actually from today we may resolve to follow you more in Jesus' name, imam. There's a great saying, which I think will come up on the screen. And I like it very much. So a thought, reap a word. So a word, reap an action.

So an action, reap a habit. So a habit. Reper character. So a character repossessedony. It's terrific, isn't it?

It really is. And I mean, lots of those people on social media and Twitter, if only they thought before they actually put down a thought into a word that then pushes them, doesn't it into a whole character? That's what happens on social media. It's quite ugly. But what I like about that saying is that it takes seriously the consequences of what I do right now for the future.

That's what it does. It may only sort of seem a little seed, a little word at the time of sowing But if only allow it to grow, it creates a character and then even a destiny. Poor writing to the Galatian Christians writes this, and it's very similar. He says, do not be deceived. Now don't you be deceived about this?

God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. There's a harvest to what you sow. Then he goes on and says, whoever sows the pleasure, to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction. Whoever sows to please the spirit from the spirit will reap eternal life.

There's consequences to what you so. What you do now will have consequences in 3 years time. How you'll be in 3 years' time. Sadly, you don't have to be a Christian for too long before someone you know or someone that you've admired or some great Christian leader falls. And it seems to be happening quite a lot in the last year actually.

And it's always happened in many ways. But it's it's not long before you see that. And then not only does that Christian leader fall, suddenly there's a whole underworld that they've been they've been about. They've lived a double life basically. There's the false, there's the there's the surface following of God.

But under the surface, their heart is full of deceit and cover up and lies, and immorality and manipulation of others. And sometimes that happens, you're quite surprised about it. And even actually the person involved is suddenly quite surprised at something that happens to reveal what's been going on. It's almost like the flower has suddenly bloomed and produced the fruit and they didn't realize it was going to end like this, but it's because they've allowed the seeds to grow over a period of time. And time suddenly shows up what's been going on in their heart.

Just think of Judas. 30 pieces of silver he sold Jesus for. But when you read the gospels, you could be sort of, well, certainly the disciples had no idea that Judah was gonna do this, and maybe Judah didn't really realize until the last moments. That he was going to betray Jesus for just 30 pieces of silver. But when you look back at his life, you see little things revealed.

That the full revelation came on the night of betrayal, but actually there were little seeds sown 3 years back. That have now fruited and caused his destiny. Today, we're looking at the life of Elijah, and we're gonna follow a very similar figure to Judas. As Judas was to jed Jesus, Gheharsay was to Elijah. Ghehazi, Elijah's aid, Elijah's servant, he like Judas is gonna sell out the profit for money.

Now we saw last week and if you didn't hear it or see it, you can go back online and listen to it. This amazing story of Naiman. Naiman is the commander of the army of Aram or Syria. It's the same place. And he's come come in his pride and all his authority really to buy a healing from God, a healing from leprosy.

And actually, he has to learn to put down his pride and he has to learn that God is the free giver, the grace giver. You can't buy God, God gives. And Elijah, as we saw last week, and it's a terrific story, has gone right out of his way to show this. And 1 of the ways of showing this to Neiman was to refuse the money that Neiman was offering so that you could see that this healing was done without a cost. It was the free gift of God.

But Gihay's eye overturns that and seeks money So if you just quickly look down at 21 and 22, I won't read it. You see that Jehaysai runs after Neiman as he's gone he's going home and he's been healed. Stops him, lies about makes up a whole story that is supposed to have come from Elijah the man of God, and it's not true in order to get the money, and he gets the money. How did Gheesai get to this position? How did Kehay's eye get to the point where he's selling out the profit for money?

Well, that's what we're looking at. Let's have a look. First point I want you to see is this. Gohai isai, great privileges just like Judith. Great privileges.

It says in verse 20, and it's an amazing sentence. Jehaysai, the servant of Elijah, the man of God, what a privilege that would be, wouldn't it? Kaesai, the servant of Elijah, the man of God the opportunities and the privilege to be the servant of this man of God, to understand God a bit more to listen to the prophet and explaining about who God is and the love of God and the grace of God. Every day of the week, This servant was in the presence of the spirit anointed prophet of god, the god of the bible, yahweh, the personal intimate God. God's authorized representative on this planet and Jehayza, guess what's right in the heart of it.

It's amazing. Kaesai could examine the lifestyle of the prophet he could see the prophet writing his sermons. He could see the prophet sort of pulling his hair out when he hasn't got much hair actually. There's profit. But you could see the prophet actually sort of you know, say how am I going to do this?

How am I going to explain this? How am I going to preach this? Seeing the prophet praying and and and perhaps getting hurt by others and you could he he was in this such privileged position. He's I was there when the Schooner might woman had her son raised to life, a dead son come to life. He saw that.

He was there. Yeah. He isai was there at the miracle of Jericho this cursed city that was having a poisonous water source and god turned the judgment from this city and brought blessing on them. Kaeser was there. Kaeser, I saw the boys that were taunting Elijah for having a bald head and for being a profit of God and they were laughing and mocking, and he and he saw the very judgment of God tear these boys apart.

Gheesai was there at the cleansing of the the death in the pot. Do you remember that? Where Elijah put flower in and healed this thing that would have killed all the prophets. God was there. And he saw that.

Gheesai was there when the prophets were hungry, and some blood comes along with a few barley loaves. And there's this miracle of feeding a hundred prop. He was there. He saw God's provision in difficult times. Kaesai was there at the conferences that Elijah organized.

Elijah organized for the prophets. Gihase, the servant of the man of God He witnessed these extraordinary events, and he had just witnessed Naiman. This proud, valiant soldier being humbled and brought low and trusting God and being healed and the white skin being made whole again. The hazy was there. And now he deliberately turns away from the prophet.

Who deliberately himself said no to the gifts of Naiman to show that salvation isn't bought but is free and undeserved. There's so much in this little sentence isn't there. Verse 20, Jehaysai. The servant of Elijah The man of God, none of those wonderful privileges as far as I can see, touched his heart. All this spirit filled teaching that was sown into his life, that if it was allowed to grow, would have brought a different destiny were all kinds of seeds that fell on a hard path and the birds of the air pected away.

His affections were not in the word of god or in the things he saw. But deeply rooted in the things of earth, Kaesai, the servant of Elijah, the man of God, There's a sense when you read this, at least I think this. There's a sense when you read this that Gohesai's feeling that he's arrived at the top job. A servant of God, a servant of the man of God. And sometimes it seems to me that people when they get to a position professionalize the position.

They're in the position. They're the servant of the man of God. And therefore, they don't apply what they're hearing to their own heart. Because they're the servant of the man of God. I've arrived.

I don't need to apply it to myself. They're working through outward conformity. They organize Elijah's diary and and get the food and the washing and the eating and the robes and all of the outward stuff he's reached the position of the top job. He's he's there. And therefore, he doesn't have to allow the stuff to touch his heart.

He's at the center of God anyway, isn't he? It's not touching his heart. Let me just stop here. Is there anyone listening now? And could it be you?

Is there anyone listening now? That has privileges like Jehaysai. Is that? You may have all the spiritual advantages Everything. You're in the full sunshine of God's blessing.

The seeds are pouring out of god's mouth to you. You enjoy all the benefits of God: Expository preaching, which means going through the bible systematically evangelistic preaching, where people are pleading with your heart to trust in Christ and to follow him, bible studies, youth groups, meetings, testimonies, church lunches, things where you're surrounded by people that love God. You've seen people changed and born into the kingdom of God. That's exactly true of Kaesai, and yet he's under the judgment of God. Why?

Because he allowed the weeds of unbelief to grow and pushed out all the privilege word of god from his life. That's my first point, and it leads me to my second point, gehazyme patterns of unbelief. If you look back at the events before this event where he's selling the profit, you'll see seeds that a sown of unbelief in his life that he doesn't remove, he doesn't do anything with, and they're allowed to grow. Unbelief grows. I can't fill you in with all the stories, but you can go back and listen to them.

But in chapter 4, there are 3 stories and you see Gheesai in these stories. The story of the Schumannite woman who's given a son and then the son dies, The woman comes to Elijah and Jehaysai and says my son has died. And where what do we see Jehaysai doing? Gohesai, we see, pushes her away because she comes to Elijah and grabs his feet. And Gohesai, while I'm the servant of the prophet, pushes her away.

And Elijah reboots him and says, you don't understand this woman's in bitter pain. Now at the at that 1 event, you might not pick it up, but it seems like this 1 little spot was showing of in sensitivity and unkindness and look at me, I'm in charge of who comes to see Elijah, the man of God. I'm the servant of God. It's like a little spot of of that just comes up on the surface and you don't realize that that spot is actually showing you your full leprosy. And he lets it fester.

And then Elijah says, will run back to the sun with my staff that represents Elijah, my staff and lay on the boy and he'll be healed. And Jehaysai goes back with the staff and lays it on the boy and nothing happens. There's something missing in Jehaysai's life, you see. And in the end, Elijah has to come to the boy, and what does Elijah the man of God? What's the first thing he does?

He prays, but you never saw that in Gohheza. He's just about the outward stick. He's about the outward rod. He's outward. And this unbelief that's underneath See, and and at the end of that story, you never get Gihayza saying, well, why couldn't I heal the boy?

And what have I done wrong? And what lesson should I learn from this? Actually, if you go to the disciples in the new testament, You'll see the disciples often do that with Jesus. Why couldn't I heal it? Why couldn't we do this?

And Jesus explain, well, you need to pray, and you need but he there's none of that with him. There's no learning. This is just fact. The next story in chapter 4 is Death in the pot, And it seems that Kaesai is the man that is in charge of that meal, but he's not responsible. He sends off a younger man if you can read it in between the lines to go and pick these chords that we were seeing about that are poisonous.

But whose job, who was responsible for this? Well, it was Gohasei. Elijah had given Gohasei that job, and there's death in the pot which is a symbol of him if if if not anybody else. And Elijah heals the death in the pot. But there's no questioning, what did I do wrong?

How do I learn? The next story is the feeding of the hundred prophets with a few loaves of barley bread. And he says, How can I set before a hundred men? How can I set this before a hundred men? This there's unbelief there.

But at the end of the story, when Elijah breaks the bread and it feeds a hundred people. There's no What did I do wrong? What do I learn? Do you see what I'm trying to say here? It's not that Gheizai failed.

It's not that Gheizai made mistakes. It's not that he even started off with unbelief. It's that he never grew from unbelief. He never applied the word that he was seeing in action. It never went to his heart.

That's what's what's happening with Jehaysai. And if you look at him, there's just no thanksgiving. There's no whoa. He's come alive again. I couldn't do it, but you didn't realize you.

Tell me what did I do wrong. There's no sorrow. Gosh. Sworial Elijah. I was in charge of the part of stew and there was death in the pot.

Please forgive me. I need to learn my responsibilities a bit better. There's a meanness in saying to the woman, don't you hold on to Elijah? There's no generous city. There's a lack of responsibility in him.

There's no thanksgiving or praise or sorrow or wow or it's not touch his heart. That's what I'm trying to say. And all this is preparation for my third point. Kehay's eyes, heart exposed. Kei's heart exposed.

The seed sown, the weeds grow, and now they bloom into a stinking flower and a ugly fruit. Look at his heart revealed verse 20 again. Gihayza, the servant of Elijah, the man of God, said to himself, my master was too easy on Naiman. This Aramian. By not accepting from him what he brought, and as surely as the Lord lives, I will run after him and get something from him.

Now we see the fruit. It's extraordinary. Just look at this verse. Just leave it on that verse for the moment because who does he pray to? Did you notice?

Who does Gihes I pray to? He's either servant of Elijah, the man of God, said to himself. That should be Braden. There's no 1 bigger than himself. All the lessons he should have learned.

And then, what does he pray? Look at his prayer. My master was too easy on Neiman, this Aramian, by not accepting from him what he brought. I mean, it's an amazing thought. My master he starts off with.

See, outward conformity to the the words. My master, the man of God, my master, But he's wrong and I'm right. I mean, he's not his master at all, is he? All of the things and the events that we've seen, Jehaysai was proved to be wrong, and Elijah was proved to be the prophet of God. But on this occasion, I'm sorry, Elijah's wrong, I am right.

He may be my master, but I am my master. And then look look at what he says. My master was too easy on name and this Arabian. I mean, why shouldn't Namine, have to Brinking Well Pay. Yeah?

For what we've done for him. Mhmm. Why doesn't he pay? And then notice he he pays the race card here. Doesn't he?

Racism comes straight in here. That's the great thing about racism. If you can lump everyone together in some kind of race that you don't like, then you can dismiss anyone from that race. You see what happens? Look look look what he says, that my master was too easy on nayman, this Arabian.

Yeah? This filthy foreigner, this bloke who should be under the judgment of God. Yeah? And because he should be under the judgment of God and he's not from Israel and he's from another race, I can dismiss all that God had did for Neiman. Just like that because he's he's from another culture.

It's extraordinary, isn't it? Now he wants money. I was preaching at a church some years ago, better not tell you where it was. It was on the south coast. It was near Southampton and it began with P.

And I was preaching in a church down there. And not only was I asked to preach, I was asked to lead, it's a horrible thing when you travel around. It's 1 thing to preach to a congregation you don't know. It's another thing to lead the service because you've no idea of their traditions and the way of doing it, and it's so horrible. And they had an offering, like a collection a month the bag comes around.

And we don't do that here, but they did. And so I had to announce that there was going to be some bags coming around. And I did what I normally do if there is that sort of thing happening. I said, if you're a member of this church, then you need to put money in. If you're a guest here or you're new, please let the bag pass by.

We really don't want your money because we don't want you to think that this gospel that I've preached is it costs you anything. I said something like that. That's what I would normally do. After the service, an old man was straight up to me at the door. I was standing at the door.

He dissed my entire sermon immediately just like that, which did put my back up a bit, I have to have to say, And he then laid into me and said, what you said about the offering is disgusting. And I said, what do you mean? He said, you said, we don't have to give money. I think that anyone that comes here ought to be made to give. And I said, well, can you clarify that?

You were talking about non Christians, are they yes. If they're going to take a service, they need to be they need to pay. And he said it in those sort of terms. I won't tell you the how I carried on that conversation. I was invited back to that church to preach and I wrote to them and said, I'll only preach if that man repents.

And I never went back. He used to be an elder in the church. It's an extraordinary thing, isn't it? They need to be made to pay, to come to church, to hear the gospel. That's the sort of thing Yohheizer is doing here.

With a bit of racism thrown in. So we see his prayer, bear with me. We see who he prayed to himself. We see his prayer. Now look Listen to the answer.

To his prayer, how he answers his prayer. He's he's pray to himself. He's kept his hautey, you know, pride and prejudice and entitlement. Over these other nations. And now he answers the prayer, look, as surely as the lord lives, sorry, you're back you're back to the other 1.

As surely as the lord lives, I will run after him and get something from him. Now do you hear this? Are you are you listening to this? As surely as the lord lives. Do you hear that?

As surely as the god who freely gives and freely save nayman, I want money. As surely as the God of Truth lives, I'm going to lie and make a story up. As surely as the lord lives, I will go and deceive and steal in the name of the man of God. And so that's what he does. Now you can go on to those verses.

So verse 21. So Gihayza, I hurried after Neiman. When Namans saw him running towards him, he got down from his chariot to meet him. Is everything alright? He said.

Everything's alright, Ghees, I answered. My master sent me to say to you, lie. 2 young men from the company of the prophets have just come to me from the hill country of Ebrahim. Please give them a talent of silver and 2 sets of clothing. By all means, take 2 talents said Damon.

He urged Kehay's eye to accept them. I don't think that would have been hard. And then try and tied up the 2 talents of silver in 2 bags and 2 sets of clothing and gave them to 2 of his servants and they carried them ahead of Garezai. See, Jehaysai is now like the lord of of his possessions. When Jehaysai came to the hills, he took the things from the servants and put them away in the house and he sent the men away and left them.

You see, Jehay sai the servant is turning into 1 who is being served, who is paid and being served. He had seen the living god at work, and now he deliberately chooses to worship money. He had seen the healing power of god at work and now he deliberately chooses sickness and death. He had seen the generous God, the loving God at work, and now he chooses to be selfish in his greed. He knew that the mighty God of the bible has said, you shall not steal and he stole.

He knew that the god of the bible had spoken on Mount Sinai and said you shall not lie and he lied and you shall not bear false witness and he bear false witness and you shall not take the Lord's name in vain and he took the Lord's name in vain and all those weeds grew up and now are choking out all the privileges that he had had in his life as a servant of the man of God. This is an enormous sin and it cannot be exaggerated. Your Haysai's fruit of his sins have now come out, and he's turned the tables on the grace of god and he wants law and he wants judgment. He wants what he thinks he deserves, and that's what he gets. And that's my fourth point.

Yeah. How is I? The insider outed, the judgment of God, the difference between Naaman and Gohheuser and it's marked is that Naaman was an outsider who comes into the kingdom of God, and Jehaysai is an insider that's thrown out. Look at it. Let me just read it quickly.

When he went in and stood before his master, so he's come back home and he before Elijah. Elijah said to him, where have you been, Gohai, isai? Your servant didn't go anywhere. Sin upon sin, denial, upon denial. Yeah.

That was an opportunity for him to say, oh my lord, I've done a wicked thing. But Elijah said to him, what's not my spirit with you when the man got down from his chariot to meet you? Is this the time to take money and or to accept clothes or olive groves and vineyards or flocks and herds or male and female servants. Namans' leprosy will cling to you and your descendants forever. Then Garezai went from Elijah's presence and his skin was leprous, became white as snow.

There's his judgment. Naiman and Gihai, they have swapped positions in the sight of God. Naman, the helpless lepper, is healed by god's grace. EHAiah, the covered servant, is covered in leprosy. Naman, knowing the free goodness and mercy of God, Gohai, getting what he deserved.

If you ask God for what you deserve, you're judged. Naman, going home a devout worshiper of God and the God of grace, Gahesai going home like Judas who sold grace for money. And look, what Elijah does because this seems to be the dream of Jehayza in verse 26 to second half, says, is this time to take money or it's set close. And then he goes further Elijah. Is this your dream?

Or to have olive groves and vineyards and flop and herds and male and female servants. Yeah, Haisai, I know what you're doing. You're of this world. You haven't got your sights on the other world. Naman took soil from Israel back to his place because his heart was in the kingdom of God.

Kahesai took treasures from Syria because his heart is in this world. That's what's going on. It's eat, drink, and be merry, isn't it, really, with you, Jehaysai. Nothing more than this world. And so therefore, you're cast out into this world.

You'll have what this world deserves. You will be leprous. Let me tie some of this up then, which is my fifth point. Will you be a Garezai in 3 years time or 5 years time or 10 years time? Have you noticed little spots of leprosy that you really should have dealt with?

You should have sorted out. You could should have gone to doctor Jesus and said, oh my goodness. That shows something's wrong with my heart. What are you sowing now? What will you reap from what you sow right now?

From what you sow today what will you reap in 3 years time? 10 years time, whatever. Let me speak to the children from Christian homes. Can I speak to you at the moment? There's some there's some right in front of me.

There we are. If you're from Christian homes, can I can I lovingly talk to you? You are an amazing privileged blessing extraordinary. However however bad your parents are, they're a lot better because they're Christian. You are so privileged to see them working out God in their life.

You might see them fall and fail, but you see them dealing with that. Saying sorry, saying sorry to God. Loving other Christians. The blessings, the opportunities are amazing. And those seeds are being sown into your life every day, seeds of truth and seeds of miracle.

You've been in this church, you've seen people change. You've seen people born again. You've heard the testimonies of people. You've heard my testimony probably. How the lord took hold of a 19 year old and saved him.

This I am a miracle in front of you. A miracle of God, where would I be if the lord didn't save me at 19? You've seen the evidence of the truth of the gospel You can't belittle it. You can't say it's untrue. If you think it's untrue, then you ask questions and you seek and you you investigate, but you don't even ask questions.

You've seen the truth of the gospel and yet every time you don't respond with your heart with praise to God, with thanksgiving, with sorrow, with joy, whatever it is, when you don't respond the birds of the air, peck it away from your hard heart. It's sad to say, that you can grow up amongst the people of God with all the privileges of Gohre's eye and the word doesn't go in. Can I encourage you? To plant the word deeply. What you hear about Jesus, push it down.

Water it. Don't just let it hit you. Don't just say, yeah, all know all about Jesus going on the cross. You know all about Jesus dying on the cross. God himself becoming a man and dying on the cross and you can say, well, I know all about that.

Is there anything more wonderful than that that the creator God saw your position in such a desperate state that you are on the road to hell, your destiny will take you to ever lasting, weeping, and gnashing of teeth, and the son of a living god came to rescue you and die on the cross to deal with your sin and you can just let it lie on a hard heart, dig it in manure it, think about it, understand it, read theology, read doctor and listen to the a to z's, begin to start to plant it deeper and deeper in your heart. Don't be lukewarm about these things. Be zealous. Stand up for the truth. So what if your school laughs at you?

Brilliant. You can stand firm like an oak instead of being a little weed that blows here and there. Grow in the truth of this. Stand firm. Take persecution if it's going to come.

Volunteer to get deeper into these things. Is there any book I need to read? Is there anything I need to understand more? Put aside your studies at school as if they're the greatest thing in life. They're not.

Why would you study biology and not the bible? Why would you Now I'm not saying, don't you could study biology and the Bible. And as you study biology, ask questions. What is this? Are we really evolved?

Does the Bible really say these things? What is the truth here? How can I reflect on the stuff that I'm learning in the world? In my own heart, spiritually. Take responsibility.

The word of God is so linked to you. Don't let it lie. Digg, manure, water, Bezealous, stand up, do something with it. Or in 3 years time. Other weeds may have grown.

Think about all the time that is spent listening, watching, hearing, learning the world's agenda. Will those weeds grow and choke out the wonderful privileges? That's my first thing. Here's my second thing. It's to everyone watch your hearts.

Be sensitive with your heart. Don't play around there, please. Don't start thinking. That the little word that or thought that you sow, that turns into a word, that turns into an action, that turns into a habit, that turns into a character that turns into a destiny. Don't think it won't, it will.

Don't mock God. Don't think God will be deceived. What you sow, you were reap. Pull up those weeds. Watch your heart.

And allow the word of God to grow. A third warning to ministers of the gospel, people like me, Don't you dare put stumbling blocks in the way of young Christians, by your manipulating and twisting and being in it for money and to fame. That's what happens, isn't it? Jeez, a strong warnings are If you cause a little 1 who believes in him to stumble, it's better to have a millstone put around your neck and be chopped in the sea. You're better off eternally drowning than to mess with 1 of the little children of God.

And here's Gihay's eye. A servant of God and he's turning the grace of God into money and earning and judgment and racism and Don't put stumbling blocks. Minsters be careful. So don't be the fruit of the seed that you sown if you are sowing to the world. Be the fruit of the seed of the word of God.

Wouldn't it be wonderful? I mean, I longed for this. You know, my time is coming to an end as a as a preacher. You know, amazing. Isn't it?

You know, I haven't got that much long left. I'm I'm really looking forward to sitting there as an old bloke Yeah. Listening to you preach and occasionally snoring. To encourage you to be a bit better. Are you going to take that mantle on?

Are you going to do that? Are you going to be teaching Sunday schools, preaching the word, faithful? What are you going to be in 3 years time? Well, what you so now? Father help us please to hear these truths however hard and to learn lessons in Jesus' name, amen.
