Various speakers, Revelation 7:9 - 7:12, 6 April 2020

Imagine a huge party with people from all nations coming together! In Corona Chronicles episode 15, we see a glimpse of the joy that's awaiting all Christians.

Revelation 7:9 - 7:12

After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, 10 and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” 11 And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying, “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen.”

Welcome again. Corona chronicles. We're in chapter 7. We're gonna look at verse 9. After this, I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no 1 could count from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the lamb.

They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice. Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne and to the land. All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the 4 living creatures and they fell down on their faces before the throne and worship God saying, Amen, praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength. Be to all God forever and ever amen.

Brilliant. Amen. It's absolutely it's 1 of the most encouraging passages in the bible, isn't it? You know, just and and just straight in at verse 9, you you get this picture of a multitude that nobody could count. Now, you know, gatherings have been canceled.

I don't know, like 2 of us here today. That's as that's as many as we can have. Know? But this look at this 1 day, we will see and, you know, it won't be long, hopefully till we can gather together again. But on the on this day here when when when the Lord Jesus comes comes again, we're gonna see people from all over the world.

Well, this is the greatest party in the universe. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, we all like to be invited to a party.

No 1 wants to be outside. But we've just seen in the end of chapter 6 that there are people outside. Why? Because they won't come to the lamb to be sealed by the lamb. These people sealed by the lamb.

There is thousands of them. Yeah. And this is the greatest party way for every tribe. Every truck. I mean, this is the the thing about this whole sort of the the coronavirus, you know, time that we're in is is seeing how many countries are affected by it.

Yeah. It's it's everywhere. It's it's a pandemic, isn't it? That's what they call it. And and just to think that it there's there's not a country that it hasn't really touched Yeah.

Depending on, you know, there's loads loads of different countries are doing different things to try and stop it, but it's everywhere. But this this is this is even Yeah. Even, you know, even more pervasive. Well, I was trying to think of what's the opposite to a pandemic. Yeah.

Well, it's not the opposite. It's a it's a pan got Yeah. Isn't it? It's an all over the world, the gospel. Because every nation and I love this.

I mean, even at our church lunches, when we have our church lunches and everybody brings you know -- Yeah. -- some food and we all share it. I love that. Do you remember those? Yeah.

Because, you know, you can get a bit of this and a bit of that. And then there's those lovely chicken those Korean chicken things. And, you know, everybody's bought all these different things. Sausage rolls as well. Yeah.

Sometimes. But here, there's no mention of sausage roll, but there's there's there's people from all over nation. At this amazing party, and you could imagine this sort of, you know, smorgasbord of of food and -- Yeah. -- you know, and but but that's not the thing. Yeah.

The will that what are they doing? Yeah. What are they doing? They're all doing that. They're standing before the lamb.

They're standing before the lamb at this party, and they're looking at him, not of themselves. Yeah. And they're dressed by him. Yeah. Yeah.

So they're able to stand before the worthy 1. Because who could stand before a worthy 1 unless the worthy 1 dressed you? Yeah. Yeah. And so these are sealed and dressed.

Yeah. Brilliant. And it's I mean, you know, we've just had palm Sunday. You know, a verse end of verse 9 there. They're holding palm branches in their hands and look at the song they're singing to God.

Salvation belongs to our Goddom, who sits on the throne and to the lambs. It's just you know, this is what this is what we need to be doing right now, isn't it? It's it's worshiping Yeah. Worship in the lord, you know, worship in the land who who die for us. And that is the opposite message that we've been hearing for a long, long time, isn't it?

Because it's basically salvation is me working out what I want and who I am and discovering myself. But this is all looking outside of me -- Yeah. -- to 1 who is greater. Who does greater stuff for us. Yeah.

Yeah. Right. And then all the angels are standing around the throne. Mhmm. Then you've got the elders that represent representing the church, the 4 living creatures that are representing the world.

Yeah. So whereas in -- A whole of creation. Right? Yeah. Chapter 4 and 5, we were in the throne and we went out -- Yeah.

-- that seismic thing. Yeah. Yeah. Now we're sort of going back in -- Yeah. -- to have a look in the throne.

Yeah. And they're saying amen which means yeah, I agree. That's absolutely right. Yeah. And then praise and glory and wisdom and thanks.

I mean, who has wisdom? And honor and power and strength, only god. Yeah. And and and again, this that is for me. 1 of the big messages that I, you know, keep seeing through all of the news conferences and everyone's trying to, you know, all the best scientists are being wheeled out to try and tackle this this this tiny little virus.

You know, all the wisdom, all the strength, all the power of all the nations are being brought together. And and it's, you know, it's gonna take it's gonna take a long, long time to get to get over this. But but this this 1, you know, this is the 1 who has all power and glory in and and strength. The you know, this is the 1, you know, you know and and think about the the the virus that that our God overcomes. Even death itself.

Yeah. Death and sin and hell in in, you know, what what a God, what a God. What a God. And so that's why we need confidence in him and we need to keep coming and listening to his word and praying to him a great multitude. I hope you're part of that great multitude because it's the greatest party in the world.

Certainly.
