As he sat on the edge of total despair in a German monastery, Martin Luther, a Roman Catholic monk, opened up his Bible and started reading.

There, on the pages of Scripture, he found the light and joy that has since lit and illuminated the way for generations. It has fascinated artists, envisioned reformers and strengthened abolitionists and gives a beautiful hope to millions.
